shadertown

Terms

The short version: browse and tune freely, a licence buys you the source, and the runtime stays MIT whatever happens.

Agreement

Using shadertown means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site, the registry or the command line tool. shadertown is operated from the Netherlands and reachable at [email protected].

Accounts

An account is created through Google sign-in. It belongs to one person. Keep control of it: anything done with your account is treated as done by you. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access.

What you may use

  • The runtime: the shadertown npm package is MIT licensed. That licence governs it, not this page, and it does not expire.
  • Free shaders: their source is available to anyone and may be used in commercial work.
  • Professional shaders: a paid plan gives you their source for unlimited personal and commercial projects, including client work. You may modify it and keep it in a private repository.

What a licence does not allow: reselling or redistributing shader source as source, publishing it in a public repository, or offering it as part of a competing catalogue or template marketplace. Ship it inside your product, not as the product. The Licence page sets all of this out in full.

Payment

The paid plan is Gold: a single payment that does not renew and does not end. Silver, a monthly subscription, is not on sale at present. Anyone who already holds it keeps it until they cancel, with the same rights over the same files.

Polar is our merchant of record: it takes the payment, issues the invoice and handles any tax. Its terms apply to the transaction itself. Prices are shown on the pricing page and may change for future payments, never for a period you already paid for, and never for a Gold purchase already made.

A discount code is applied on the checkout page before payment and shows on the invoice. It cannot be applied to a payment already made.

Buying Gold while you hold Silver does not cancel Silver and is not prorated. Cancel the subscription yourself in the billing portal.

Files you already downloaded stay yours and keep working after Silver lapses. A lapsed plan stops new downloads and registry access, not code you have already shipped.

Refunds

If the product is not what you expected, write to [email protected] within 14 days of purchase and we will refund it. EU consumers also have their statutory right of withdrawal, which we honour.

Fair use of the service

Do not attempt to get around the licence check, scrape the registry in bulk, share licence keys, or use the site in a way that degrades it for other people. We may suspend an account that does.

Availability and warranty

The site and the shaders are provided as they are. We do our best to keep everything online and correct, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and WebGPU support differs between browsers and machines. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending it

You can stop using shadertown at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end your access if you break these terms. Either way, the MIT runtime and any source you already hold are unaffected.

Changes and law

If these terms change we update the date at the top. A material change applies to Silver from your next payment, and to a Gold purchase only for downloads you make after it. Dutch law governs this agreement, and the courts of the Netherlands have jurisdiction. Your rights as a consumer in your own country are unaffected. See also our Privacy page.
