Filament
Threads of light pinched at one point, fanning to the edges
A handful of glowing threads gather to a point and spread toward the edges like fibres drawn from a spool, each a slow sine that fades from the first colour to the last, burning through to the core where they cross. The light is analytic and then bloomed, so it bleeds the way a filament does. The pinch leans toward the pointer and the threads brighten under it.
Rendering cost: medium. A few dozen samples per pixel: comfortable fullscreen on a discrete GPU, but cap the pixel ratio for a retina hero. How to tune it
