Shafts

God rays from just above the frame, and the hand that blocks them

Crepuscular rays from a source just above the top edge: the light carried on each bearing is three octaves of drifting noise over the angle, carved by a soft threshold into a handful of broad beams with finer rays between, so the shafts shift and cross without repeating. A cone keeps the light where the source points, the shafts fade with distance and fall to dark at the foot of the frame, dust in the air breaks them up, and the pointer is a thing held in the light: it blocks the beams and throws a shadow away from the source, softer the further it falls. Behind them a dark sky, and a bloom that lets the beams bleed the way light through haze does.
